Local communities urge residents be counted in census

Several local communities are teaming up to help residents fill out their census questionnaires. Edgerton City Administrator Ramona Flanigan says this is the first year the census can be filled out on-line, and some people may not have access to the Internet. Flanigan says the city is reaching out through the schools and library to help. She also says Edgerton will be joining Milton and Janesville at Culvers in Newville on April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to help anyone with problems fill out their questionnaire. An added bonus will be a free scoop of custard. Flanigan says ensuring every resident is counted is important for both federal funding and electoral representation.
