Rock County sees diverse economic recovery

The local economy isn’t just booming.
It’s also more diverse than it was a decade ago when the General Motors Assembly plant closed in Janesville according to Rock County Economic Development Manager James Otterstein.
Otterstein says he’s never such diversity in the type, quantity, and quality of the economic activity since the great recession.
Otterstein says since the great recession Rock county has seen over 150 new private sector projects and 12-million square feet of either newly constructed or previously vacated space that’s now occupied by businesses.
Otterstein says those 150 projects have resulted in more than 6,000 full time jobs.
