The Janesville Police Department successfully retains its status with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group. The Janesville Police Department demonstrated compliance with 208 standards to gain accreditation. Police Chief David Moore says the accreditation process affirms to the community that the police department is performing to a set of standards that are respected by the policing profession. He adds accreditation ensures policies and procedures remain current and assures that the police department constantly follows written guidelines. The Janesville Police Department was first awarded accreditation status in 2000. This is the sixth re-accreditation for the department.
