City Clerk Dave Godek says before the pandemic, about 10% of voters requested an absentee ballot. For next week’s election, Godek is predicting 90% will vote by mail. He says his office has already issued more than 9000 absentee ballots, compared to only 900 for the same election four years ago. He also suspects the trend will continue after the pandemic, because people will enjoy not needing to go to the polls.
