Janesville police are investigating sexually explicit pictures exchanged between a local man and a 14-year-old girl he knows.
25-year-old Cain Schumacher was charged Wednesday in Rock County Court with sexual exploitation of a child.
Investigators believe he coerced the young teen to send him naked pictures over the messaging app Snapchat, which automatically delete after the user opens them unless they are intentionally saved or screenshotted.
The victim said Schumacher threatened to get her in trouble over vape pens if she did not participate.
Forensic examiners searched both phones and found partially nude images of both Schumacher and the victim. He is not currently charged with possession of child pornography.
A Rock County Court Commissioner set a signature bond of $25,000 for Schumacher with the condition that he have no contact with any juveniles except for supervised contact with his own child.
