A five-person crew from Madison may have gone to the well one too many times. Janesville police got a complaint Tuesday night about 5:30 of somebody passing a fake hundred-dollar bill at a restaurant along Milton Avenue. While they were talking to witnesses, more complaints flooded in from other restaurants, medical offices, retail outlets, a pet store, and even a beauty shop. One officer noticed a vehicle at a gas station on Milton Avenue matching the description of suspects passing counterfeit hundreds in Dane and other counties. Police say a search of the vehicle found more funny money. The counterfeit bills all have the same serial number. All five suspects are facing Felony Uttering charges. The suspects include 18-year-old Domonique D. Gaunichaux, 22-year-old Danesha B. Phillips, 44-year-old Ungelique Franklin, 21-year-old Cornelius K. Stewart, and 18-year-old Marllo P. Phillips, all of Madison.
