Beloit firefighter among latest city employees to test positive for COVID-19

Two more City of Beloit employees test positive for COVID-19, one of which is a firefighter.
The city and the Rock County health department conducted contact tracing and found the firefighter did not have any direct exposure to members of the public during the person’s most recent shift.
The city said the other employee who tested positive also did not have any public exposure at work.
The Beloit Fire Department is quarantining “several” other firefighters who were in close proximity with the person who tested positive.
The city said that person was wearing full personal protective equipment including an N95 mask while working, and the quarantine of other firefighters is “out of an abundance of caution.”
