On March 4, 2016 The Rock County Historical Society will welcome Franklin Vagnone, author of Anarchists Guide to Historic House Museums to the RCHS Campus.
Vagnone has experience in a number of fields including architecture, design, preservation, and community engagement. After Vagnone and his daughter were reprimanded for taking a cell phone picture in a historic house and told to walk the rest of the tour next to the tour guide, he decided to tackle the traditional historic house museum model and to explore why historic house museums are failing across the country. He visits the Rock County Historical Society to share his ideas and vision on how to enhance visitor experience using innovative concepts and techniques.
Enjoy a presentation by Vagnone and a discussion afterwards about Anarchists Guide to Historic House Museums on March 4, 2016 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Helen Jeffris Wood Museum Center located at 426 N. Jackson St. in Janesville. General admission is $5.00 and light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited so please RSVP to Nathan Fuller at nfuller@rchs.us or give him a call at 608-756-4509 ext. 304.
