Hours after 43rd Assembly District Representative Andy Jorgensen announces he’s not seeking re-election, another Milton resident says he’s looking to fill the vacated seat.
Don Vruwink is a retired teacher who served on the Milton City Council from 2010 to 2015, the last year as council president.
The Democrat says his life experiences growing up on a dairy farm, being a father, teacher, coach, and small town Wisconsin resident have influenced his outlook on life and prepared him to serve in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Vruwink and his wife Beth have been married for 37 years and have one son.
Vruwink plans to make the announcement official during a speech Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Milton Area Veterans Memorial at the corner of Hilltop and High Street in Milton.
