Janesville firefighters are reminding residents to keep campfires away from combustible structures. Firefighters responded to the 900 block of North Martin Road just before 4:00 a.m. Thursday for a garage fire. The investigation reveals a campfire kettle on a deck likely started the fire. Flames spread from the deck to an attached garage and smoke detectors in the home alerted residents. Damage was contained to the deck and garage and is listed around $10 thousand.
