A local business leader is taking over as Executive Director of the Rock County Cancer Coalition. A news release indicates Lucy Beckord brings a variety of experience to the position including working for Blackhawk Community Credit Union, Kutter Harley Davidson, and having owned her own business, Lucy’s Loon Lake Coffee and Deli. Beckord will manage fundraising, grant writing, and support the mission of the coalition in providing grants to individuals diagnosed with cancer. She says her goals include raising the profile of he organization so more people are aware of the assistance the organization provides families in Rock county. The Rock County Cancer Coalition has distributed more than one-million dollars of assistance over the last decade since being incorporated as a non-profit organization.
