The Janesville Fire Department may be a little better able to respond to emergencies. The fire department is expanding its fleet with the addition of a new fire engine. The new engine was manufactured in Clintonville, Wisconsin and will be housed at Fire Station Number Three on Crosby Avenue. The new vehicle will replace a 2012 engine which will now move to reserve status. Fire officials say before the arrival of the new engine, the fire department was without a reserve engine for about a year. A reserve engine can provide back-up in the case of significant or multiple incidents.
