Bags of Hope raises more than $40 thousand

Four-hundred families and 50-seniors will have a merrier Christmas thanks to the annual Janesville School District’s Bags of Hope.  Officials say this year’s event raised 42-thousand dollars of food stuffs for those in need over the holidays.  Volunteers joined together Saturday in a Dollar General Distribution Center warehouse to package the food.  The community food drive was originally founded by the United Auto Workers Local 95 and taken over the school district after the GM manufacturing plant closed.
