Democrat Lisa Tollefson is no stranger to the office. She was appointed by the county board last June. Tollefson plans to run on her experience. She was the Harmony Town Clerk for five-years before being appointed the Rock County Clerk. Tollefson says she is a Certified Government Accountability Board Election Trainer. She says she also understands the processes and laws surrounding the duties of clerk including tax apportionment, public records, drafting agendas, open meetings law, and the checks and balances system between the Treasurer’s Office and the Clerk’s Office. The only other announced candidate thus far is fellow Democrat and Janesville City Council member Sam Liebert.
