A portion of Madison Street in Janesville is expected to close starting April 20th due to poor pavement condition from Laurel Avenue to North Jackson Street. Engineering Division’s Project Engineer Grant Tullar says Janesville does 12 miles of rehab during the course of each construction season, as part of its Street Rehab Program, so the project will address the defective pavement. Tullar believes it’s also going to replace curb and gutter intermittently, and guesses utility work will happen with closure starting tomorrow. The water main will be replaced first, then another contractor will mobilize in there to do street reconstruction. The project is expected to end in late June.
