COVID-19 activity has slowly been on the rise in Rock County since March of this year, moving the county to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “medium” COVID-19 Community Level. Rock County Public Health Department’s Communications Specialist Jessica Turner says the current rate is about 275 cases per 100,000 which is an average over the last seven days. Turner says to give some perspective, it’s still 10 times lower than what was seen in January. She says getting vaccinated and staying up-to-date on COVID-19 boosters is the best method to keep case levels down and protect those who are vulnerable.
