Rock, Racine, and Walworth Counties are another step closer to joining their two library systems.
The Rock County Board of Supervisors approved a merger between the Arrowhead Library System and the Lakeshores Library System at their meeting last week.
County Board Supervisor Bill Wilson says as part of the agreement, Rock County funds will remain in Rock County.
Wilson says the merger will result in less dollars being spent on administrative costs.
Racine and Walworth Counties still need to approve the plan.
The new Prairie Lakes Library System would begin operating on January first.
