A nine-year-old child dies after being struck by a car in Janesville.
According to a news release, Janesville Police and Fire Departments were dispatched the the intersection of East Memorial Drive and Prairie Avenue just before 3:30 Wednesday afternoon on the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
The child was transported to a local hospital were they later died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Janesville Police say further details about the accident circumstances and the identity of the victim are not being released at this time.
