Janesville PD offer trick or treating safety tips

Police in the city of Janesville are taking the oppurtunity to offer tips on how citizens can stay safe while Trick or Treating this Halloween.
Sergeant Ben Thompson says there are number of things people can do to costumes including reflective tape, lighter colored costumes, and using face paint instead of masks to make sure trick or treaters are enjoying the festivities safely.
Thompson says that staying safe doesn’t stop once the trick or treating is done, and it’s important for parents to check for anything suspicious with their kids candy to make sure they don’t eat anything harmful.
Halloween Trick or Treating in Janesville takes place Halloween night from 5:30 to 7:30.
