A Beloit woman is being honored by the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association for overcoming barriers to achieve economic security.
Community Action Executive Director Marc Perry said they nominated Anastasia Givhan, who started with C-A-I nearly a decade ago seeking housing and has since moved into a Success Coach Coordinator role with the organization.
Perry says Givhan has worked extremely hard over the past few years to get where she is and the first thing she wanted to do when she learned she had won the award was get home and tell her children.
Anastasia received her award at the Poverty Matters banquet on Wednesday.
