Man who committed burglaries in Janesville sentenced to federal prison

A 36-year-old Madison man who’s accused of committing burglaries in Iowa, Ohio, Minnesota, and Wisconsin – including two in Janesville – is sentenced to three-and-a-half years in federal prison.
Ahmeeshadye Curtis will start serving his sentence after he completes the two-and-a-half year sentence he’s currently serving doe burglary-related crimes in Ohio.
Curtis was convicted of conspiring to transport, and transporting stolen goods worth over $5000 across state lines following a four-day trial in federal court.
According to a news release, between November and December of 2019 Curtis and Carl Carter burglarized or tried to burglarize at least seven stores and traveled across state lines to sell the stolen merchandise.
Carter plead guilty and was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in federal prison in January of 2021.
