Red Cross needs blood during the holidays

The American Red Cross’ need for blood isn’t taking a Thanksgiving break.
Regional Communications Manager Laura McGuire says it only takes about an hour and you can you can still donate if you’ve recently gotten a flu or COVID-19 vaccine.
The Red Cross is holding blood drives Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Creekside Place in Evansville; or Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the YMCA of Northern Rock County in Janesville.
As a thank you, those who donate between today and November 27th will receive an exclusive Red Cross beanie, while supplies last.
The American Red Cross sees a more than 20 percent drop in blood and platelet donations during holiday weeks.
