In a vote of 290 to 137, the U.S. House of Representatives passes a bill that forces railroad union workers to accept a contract deal, avoiding a strike.
Republican Bryan Steil says he voted against the measure, as he thinks the managers and railroad workers should have been given some time to cool off.
The House also voted on a resolution that would provide seven days of paid sick leave to railroad workers.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has indicated that the Senate intends to get a bill passed will before the December 9th deadline.
