Salvation Army Rock County falls short of Christmas fundraising goal

The Salvation Army Rock County is hoping the community picks up the slack after the Christmas fundraising campaign falls short of its goal for the second straight year.
Major Tom McDowell says the goal of $590,000 was a four percent increase over what was actually raised last year.
Between November 18th and January 31st, the Salvation Army collected $494,231, which is more than $95,000 shy of the goal.
McDowell says last year there was in influx of donations after the Christmas campaign ended so the Salvation Army was still able to meet its budget. He’s hoping that trend continues.
McDowell says donations are still being accepted by mail and online at SARockCounty.org.
