Whitewater Police are releasing more information about the newborn baby who was found dead in a field near a Whitewater trailer park on March 4th.
According to a news release, the little boy was found inside a cardboard box, wrapped in a light-colored shirt, and wearing no additional clothing.
It is believed the baby was placed in the field less than 48 hours before he was located.
The Whitewater Police Department is seeking information related to the boy’s death and any information that would help identify the mother or father.
Wisconsin has a safe haven law that allows newborn babies who are 72 hours old or less to be relinquished anonymously and confidentially to a law enforcement officer, EMS provider, or hospital staff member without fear of legal consequences.
