Rock County’s health ranks poorly among other counties around the state and nation.
The University of Wisconsin – Madison Population Health Institute’s latest County Health Rankings place Rock County at number 63 out of all 72 counties in the state.
Rock ranked poorly among other counties in the state when it comes to premature death, alcohol-impaired driving deaths, sexually transmitted diseases, primary care physicians, unemployment, and children in poverty.
Rock County Public Health Officer Katrina Harwood says it doesn’t mean Rock County doesn’t have great things happening.
