Community members voice displeasure with Beloit School Board

Residents and parents in the Beloit School District aren’t happy with the school board’s decision to close a pair of intermediate schools starting next school year.
One parent spoke out at Tuesday’s board meeting, saying students on the west side have formed bonds with kids in their schools and will now have those removed.
Another parent asked the school board if they ever thought about how closing two west side schools will impact attendance, tardiness, and loss of jobs.
Multiple residents said the school board showed a lack of transparency about exactly which two schools would be closing, with most parents and residents unaware until the April 4th meeting when the closures were approved.
The Beloit School District voted to close Cunningham and McNeel Intermediate Schools during their meeting earlier this month.
