A fire causes $10,000 damage at a home on Beloit’s near east side. Firefighters were called to the 1200 block of Dewey avenue about 3:30 Saturday morning. Officials say the fire appears to have started in a dryer. No one was reported hurt. The dryer and some clothes were destroyed, and the home sustained extensive smoke damage.
