A local non-profit, providing programs and services to people with disabilities and disadvantages will soon have a facility in Milton. KANDU has purchased the 110,000 square foot Blackhawk Technical College Advanced Manufacturing Training Center on Plumb Street. KANDU officials say the facility offers benefits enhancing client experience through a completely accessible layout, spacious rooms, large windows and updated technology. Officials say the acquisition comes at a critical time for KANDU’s strategically planned growth to meet the needs of future generations in the Rock County community. A news release states the new location will increase KANDU’s production capacity, which means more jobs and more production revenue. KANDU Executive Director Kathy Hansen says the number of elderly adults with dementia, which the non-profit serves in its adult daycare program is projected to double by 2040. She says the new space will make sure future generations receive the best care possible. No financial details have been released. The move is expected to take place later this year.
