The 26-year-old Beloit man accused of selling the drugs that caused a non-fatal overdose is sentenced in Rock County Court.
Judge Karl Hanson found Jaz-Juan Steel guilty of possession of firearm of a felon, two counts of manufacture or delivery of narcotics, and first degree recklessly endangering safety as part of a plea deal in April.
Two additional counts of manufacture or delivery of narcotics, and four counts of manufacture or delivery of cocaine were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Hanson sentenced Steel to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision on the gun charge. He received five years of probation to be served consecutive to his prison sentence for the other three charges.
Steel was arrested following the execution of a search warrant in June of last year.
