After more than a decade of hosting Independence Day on the Rock at Traxler Park, the Rock Aqua Jays are re-branding and moving the celebration to a new date.
Co-Chair Tim Cullen says they’ll be moving the event to July 1st, something they are dubbing “Star Spangled Saturday”, and it will feature food trucks, live music, free amusement rides, and fireworks at dusk to go along with to Aqua Jays performance.
Cullen says they asked members of the community about what changes they could make that would improve the event, and discussions to change dates go all the way back to September.
The day gets started at noon, with music slated to start at 1pm.
