Temporary widening of I-39/90 near Beloit begins July 25th

Temporary widening work is anticipated to begin next week on Interstate 39/90 southbound, between the WIS 11 (Avalon Road) and County S (Shopiere Road) interchanges, in southern Rock County. Crews will also remove and reconstruct the Creek Road and Woodman Road bridges over the Interstate near the towns of La Prairie and Turtle.
The Creek Road and Woodman Road bridges are tentatively scheduled to be closed to all traffic on July 25, 2016. Alternate local routes are required. Both structures will be removed in early to mid-August 2016, and rebuilt and lengthened in the same locations by mid-November 2016. Noise is anticipated during the overnight hours from the bridge demolition, construction equipment and backup alarms.
I-39/90 remains open to two lanes in each direction, especially during peak travel times. Nightly single lane closures will occur on the Interstate within these limits from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. All lane restrictions and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change. Motorists are reminded to be alert and drive with caution in all work zones.
These projects are expected to be completed in mid-November 2016.
