Sheriff’s Office warns citizens of phone scam

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about another telephone scam.
Twice on Friday, resident of Rock County received phone calls from a person identifying themselves as “Deputy Sellers.”
In both instances, the scammer claimed the person had warrants for their arrest and they needed to purchase Kwik Trip Gift cards and give the confirmation number over the phone.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that there is no Deputy Sellers who works at the Sheriff’s Department and that the Sheriff’s Office would never take bond for a warrant over the phone, or accept gift cards as currency to post bond.
