A Milwaukee County Transit System app should make riding the Beloit Transit System a little easier.
Community Development Director Julie Christensen says technology upgrades at the City of Beloit’s municipal bus sytem include automatic voice announcements with LED displays, GPS, info-tainment, and cashless fare media.
The cashless fare media will be provided by the WisGo system with an app. This system, which was procured and developed through Milwaukee County Transit System, includes options for riders to purchase fare through an app, debit card, or a transit pass card that can be loaded and charged electronically. The WisGo App also provides real-time trip planning options, and can be used throughout the state with other Transit agencies utilizing the WisGo App.
The Beloit City Council approved a services agreement with the Milwaukee County Transit System for use of the WisGo app at their meeting Monday night.
