A virtual public information session Wednesday evening is giving folks the chance to learn all about a highway project on a major stretch of road in South Beloit.
Plans Engineer Michael Kuehn says the project includes the reconstruction of the Illinois 2 and Illinois 75 roadway from the Wisconsin stateline to Perry Avenue and Hillside Drive, as well as adding a shared use path to parts of the roadway and reconstruction of the existing sidewalk.
Kuehn says people can visit the Illinois Department of Transportation website to register for the meeting, and they’ll be going over possible impacts to properties and adjacent residents and the timeline of the project.
Kuehn says the project is still several years away from getting underway, but the early stages and getting public feedback are crucial.
