Holzman raise pushes salary beyond $200k annually

Janesville School District Superintendent Mark Holzman is getting a 5.9% raise, one that mirrors a raise other district employees got approved weeks ago.
The Janesville School Board unanimously approved the raise during their Tuesday night meeting, after it had initially tabled the raise for the district’s top administrator weeks ago per the request of board member Kevin Murray.
Holzman had an initial salary when he was hired of $197,650, but with the increase he’ll now be making just north of $209,000.
The increase for Holzman matches the 5.9% raise which non-certified teaching staff received when negotiations were finalized with the Janesville Education Association last month.
Holzman is now in his second year as the district’s superintendent, after taking over for Steve Pophal, who retired in June of last year.
