Milton food pantry getting assist with renovations

The Milton Food Pantry is getting a little help when it comes to exterior improvements to the building.
Interim City Administrator Duane Gau says the food pantry has operated for over a decade, and the project is expected to cost a little over $12,000; but they’re only able to give the pantry a $5,000 TIF grant because of restrictions.
Milton Community Action Group Treasurer Phyllis Fry says this grant money will go towards a new red awning at the building, which will keep volunteers and clients safe when people are picking up groceries.
Fry says the other roughly $7,000 will come from the building account of the Community Foundation, and they expect the awning project to be started and completed before Winter.
