Expansion continues at Blackhawk Technical College as they break ground on their new Innovative Manufacturing Education Center.
President Tracy Pierner says the center will look and feel like a manufacturing facility, and they are going to have manufacturing processes operating in a learning environment like fabrication, welding, and machine tooling.
Pierner says the project is another part of their mission to make the college have more of a campus appeal, and hopefully they can attract a younger generation who maybe feel their is a stigma around attending a technical college.
The center is expected to be opened in time for the fall semester of 2024.
