If everything goes according to plan, the proposed Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center in Janesville could be open in late summer of 2025.
City Engineer Mike Payne says there has been considerable interest in the project among contractors, with just over 40 plan-holders.
Bidding for the project opens on December 19th. The Janesville City Council is scheduled to award the project on January 22nd.
he City is scheduled to close on the former Sears property late this week. If the project falls though, it would revert back to mall-owner RockStep Capital.
