With the contract officially awarded last week, JP Cullen is beginning the process of getting to work on the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.
Co-President Jeannie Cullen Schultz says now they reach out to subcontractors and trade partners, and working out bids and they’ll have a kickoff meeting with the city once those are awarded to review the project schedule.
Cullen Schultz says anytime you get to do a unique building like an ice arena it’s an exciting thing, and they’re just coming off completing work at the Bakke Center at UW-Madison, which also features an ice sheet so they have some experience to lean on.
Demolition on the former Sears’ building is expected to happen late this winter or early spring.
