2025 CAPA CUP PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT AT BAKKEN PARK IN COTTAGE GROVE
MADISON — Over 400 entrants will enjoy three days of friendly pickleball competition, August 15-17, in the 3rd Annual Baird CAPA Cup Tournament, to be held at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove. Pickleball is the nation’s fastest-growing sport, and that enthusiasm level is evidenced by tournament participants more than doubling since the first CAPA Cup in 2023.
The tournament is organized by the Capital Area Pickleball Association (CAPA) with generous financial support from Baird Wealth Management. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County.
The tournament will have four sessions each day, from 8 in the morning until 9 at night, and each session will feature at least two brackets of competition. Brackets are based on skill level, with men’s, women’s, and mixed-gender categories. There are also brackets for players over age 70 and, a first this year, for parent-child teammates. Spectators and media coverage are welcome.
CAPA President and tournament director Kevin McPherson said “Pickleball is well known as a sport that’s easy to learn and fun to play with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. An added bonus for our members is the chance to compete at events like our annual tournament. Baird is a fantastic partner that is all-in on pickleball at both the national and local levels.”
Baird Director and Branch Manager Chris Yesbeck said “Baird is proud to support the CAPA Cup and the local organizations it benefits. Events like this strengthen our community by bringing people together and giving back in meaningful ways.”
