The Janesville Fire Department (JFD) and Janesville Police Department (JPD) are working to help parents and guardians protect the lives of Janesville’s youngest residents. The Child Safety Seat program provides monthly events with certified child safety seat technicians who will inspect and instruct on proper safety seat use.
The next Child Safety Seat will be held on Thursday, August 8, at Fire Station #1 (303 Milton Ave.) from 8 a.m. to noon.
Several technicians from the JFD and JPD will be available to check child safety seats during the event. Each inspection takes approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge; however, the JFD and JPD will accept donations. These contributions help fund the operating costs of the inspection program. Parents are encouraged to make an inspection appointment to help limit program wait times. The JFD will also have safety seats available.
