Independence Day Pops Concert

July 3, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

FREE

The Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Dr. Rob Tomaro, presents our traditional July Pops concerts honoring our servicemen and women and celebrating the anniversary of our nation’s independence. Enjoy favorite classics, such as the Armed Forces Salute, God Bless America, the Star Spangled Spectacular, The Starts and Stripes Forever, and The 1812 Overture.

This year, our special guest artist will be Warrior Records recording artist, Double Grammy Nominee Electric Violinist Susan Aquila. Susan has performed the world over with iconic artists such as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John and the Transiberian Orchestra. And now, this exciting star will rock Rock County on the 3rd and 4th of July with the BJSO. Susan will perform a new arrangement of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin and will present the world premiere of a Star Spangled Banner fantasy for the electric violin. Both concerts are free. The perfect way to celebrate America’s birthday with the whole family!!

Two students from BJSO’s Conducting Kids program will be conducting the orchestra during both concerts: Eric Funk will conduct at the Janesville concert, and Jameon Copper at the Beloit concert. Both boys are students at Cunningham School in Beloit.

These are free family-friendly concerts. Bring your own chairs. Food vendors will be on site at both locations. You may bring your food; however, alcohol is prohibited.
