The Department of Workforce Development is taking extreme measures in Rock County to get the word out about of a program intended to support the vocation efforts of disabled school aged teens. Wisconsin Promise offers workforce resources and job opportunities to high school age teens with disabilities, is going door-to-door to enroll participants. Project Manager Ellie Hartman says Wisconsin Promise is a five-year program designed to improve education and employment services for Social Security Supplemental Income recipients aged 14, 15, and 16. Hartman says only 58 of the 235 eligible families in Rock County have enrolled. She says families are being contacted directly because time is running out to enroll. Only 400 slots are left statewide.
