Voting will begin a little early this fall

Early in-person absentee voting will be starting a little early for this November’s election. Rock County Clerk Lisa Tollefson says voting beings a week from Monday. She says all five city clerks in Rock County plan to extend their hours for early voting. She says many of the other municipalities plan to do the same if time allows. Recent court rulings have allowed voters to cast their ballots earlier this year. In the past, clerks were relegated to offering early voting only the two full weeks before Election Day. Tollefson says photo ID will still be needed, and voters must be registered. Absentee Voting in Rock county will end Friday November 4th. This is also the deadline for voters to register prior to Election Day. Tollefson says a sample ballot is already on myvote.wi.gov and you can also check to see if you’re registered to vote.
